“In the last few days I have received hundreds of calls and messages from well wishers, friends, and family members. I am overwhelmed by their show of support and while I would like to thank them from the bottom of my heart.

A police man’s job is never an easy one even under the best of circumstances. We serve so that the civil society can operate free from fear, threats, intimidation and violence. No man in the uniform wakes up in the morning hoping to become embroiled in clashes or controversy but we risk that every day so that our republic can function smoothly.

I have been told by some that I have the right to refuse a narco test; that submitting to it can be risky. I thank them for their advice but I welcome such a test because I have a clear conscience and nothing to hide.

The last three years have been very hard for me and my family but I have faith in India’s constitution which is second only to my faith in the words of our Gurus and the Guru Granth Sahib. I have no doubt that a fair, free, and impartial investigation will exonerate me any place, any time.”
